I was born in Jerusalem, and I have spent my life drawing and painting. Portraiture is the heart of my work - realistic, but never photo-realistic.

I work in charcoal, pastel, and oil, and I am drawn above all to the old masters of the Renaissance and Baroque. My pastel technique adapts the classical oil-painting layering method: a deep understanding of anatomy, built up in patient layers of color.

I teach this method in studio workshops and online - and I share it freely, every week, on my YouTube channel.
